As you may have read, my name is Raleigh, and I'm a multimedia artist.
While I'd like to say I mainly focus on one or two mediums, I do not. Whether it be crayon or oil paint, I use the tools necessary to get my idea out, and oftentimes it takes a combination of many mediums before I'm satisfied. It is through the use of many mediums that I feel I'm most effectively able to convey deeper messages.
Sources for inspiration are limitless, and to start I am regularly inspired by music. "Plastic Beach" by Gorillaz, "Come With Us" by The Chemical Brothers, and "The Doors" self titled album are a few works I'd consider to convey a similar message to my own artwork. Frida Kahlo, Francis Bacon, Pablo Picasso, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, and Andy Warhol are also inspirations of mine. Every one of these artists challenged what was considered acceptable, and faced tremendous hardship- something I believe everyone can identify with.
